Discover how the Marvel United X-Men Locations expansion enhances gameplay with new tiles and tokens, and decide if it's right for your collection.
Quick answer
The Marvel United: X-Men Locations expansion adds 31 cardboard tiles and 6 support tokens that introduce new location-based gameplay elements, but it requires the core Marvel United: X-Men game to play.
What the expansion includes
This Kickstarter special accessory from CMON contains 31 cardboard tiles and 6 support tokens. These components are designed to layer new strategic options onto your existing Marvel United: X-Men sessions, letting you interact with iconic X-Men locations during play.
Why locations matter for gameplay
Location tiles typically grant special abilities, movement options, or victory conditions tied to specific spots on the board. They can shift the pace of a game, reward area control, or create new objectives. The support tokens add another layer, offering temporary boosts or resource management choices.
Important limitations
This is a board game accessory, not a standalone expansion. You must own the Marvel United: X-Men core game to use it. Also, paid add-ons from the Kickstarter campaign (such as extra character packs or exclusive cards) are not included unless explicitly stated. Check your existing collection before purchasing.
Decision rules for buying
- You already own Marvel United: X-Men: If you have the core game and enjoy the base mechanics, this accessory adds meaningful variety without requiring a full expansion purchase.
- You want new gameplay without new characters: If you prefer strategic map changes over new hero or villain cards, the location tiles and support tokens deliver that focus.
- You missed the Kickstarter: This is a Kickstarter special, so availability may be limited. Check stock if you want the exclusive components not sold at retail. Consider acting quickly if the item is in stock.
